June 2020 Newsletter

Hi and welcome to the first edition of Sourcing Bali news for 2020.  It’s been a work in progress ?

We are very pleased to say that we’re now back at work with a full team and taking on loads of new orders from several countries around the world.  It’s wonderful to see the world opening up again and getting back to business.

In this edition of Sourcing Bali News, we’ll be sharing details of our updated PROJECTS pages on our website, our success with our aggressive Facebook presence, news of some new orders, tidbits from our suppliers of what’s new and on trend plus updates on the team.

I take this opportunity to THANK YOU for your tremendous support – many of you have been with us for over a decade.  We hope that you continue to stay safe, keep well and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

PROJECTS

2019 was a particularly busy and rewarding year for us.  We completed several projects New York, some in the Caribbean, Africa, Holland, Maldives, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand – we were certainly kept busy.  We’ve finally been able to get our website updated with the details of these new and wonderful projects.  We invite you to take a look at these pages on our site and encourage you to support them wherever possible.

For details of those or any of our project – please email us at desmond@sourcing-bali.com

If you haven’t already LIKED our page on Facebook, we invite you to do so.  We have twice weekly posts of new and interesting finds, progress of orders, updates on holidays, and general info of what’s happening with the team – feel free to share us with your friends if you think they might be interested in our services for their business or home.

We look forward to seeing you online.

New Zealand is HOT !

We have 3 terrific clients in New Zealand – (all non-conflicting – we checked) and we have regular orders of home wares, accessories, furniture and lighting – it’s now becoming one of our biggest markets and we’re so proud to see so many creative Indonesian designs in such high demand by Kiwis.  Chances are, if you’re buying anything Indonesian in NZ, it’s from us.

Thank you NEW ZEALAND. !

ONLINE ORDERS

Whilst international travel is still limited, we’re taking even more online orders.  Feel free to email us with your requests. Be sure to include as many specifications as possible to assist us with your quotes.  Please include a clear image or inspirational image, sizes, materials, finishes, colors and quantities.  Custom orders are welcome.  Please keep in mind that we have a minimum order value of US$5,000.  We’re flexible with this, but since shipping costs from Bali are relatively high, it’s important to ensure that the orders make financial sense to ship.

Please email us for details.  sales@sourcing-bali.com

Artwork and Accessories

We get asked a lot to supply hotels and resorts with their decorative artwork and accessories for their public areas, restaurants, bars etc.  Often our projects are in resort destinations like Fiji, Seychelles, Maldives and the Caribbean.  Often these are technical designs that can take several attempts to perfect, and sometime these are simple interpretations on ethnic designs.  It’s a fun part of our job to receive these varied, funky and original orders – here’s a few examples of the wonderful stuff that we’ve been working on over the last 6 months.  Sadly, none of these ever make it to our website / product list, so if you’re interested in these designs, please let us know.  Sales@sourcing-bali.com

Carpets Galore

We’ve recently had several orders for custom-made carpets and rugs.  Some were for Maldives, Australia and Seychelles. Its’ wonderfully exciting to see a design come to life; selecting colours, proportions and working from a multitude of samples before the final design is approved.   Recent orders included dozens of wool carpets, along with some beautifully hand-painted natural fibre rugs which will be used as wall hangings.

On Trend

We’re seeing a revival of natural rattan furniture – something that is unique to Indonesia.  It’s easy to determine an Indonesian made piece, compared with something from other parts of Asia.  We’re known for our quality, our creativity and our natural hand-made feel.  In particular, there’s an upward trend of rattan light shades, seagrass basket ware, ethnic decorative pieces and hand-dyed natural fabrics for cushion covers, throws etc.  Here’s some examples of the wide and exciting styles that we’re often call upon to source.

The Team

We’re already in our 20th year of operation – WOW!  We can hardly believe how long it’s been and quickly the years have ticked by.  Some of you have been with us since the beginning and we’re very proud to have assisted you over this time.  (THANKYOU !!!!!!) Many of the crew have been with us for over a decade, and we’re very proudly a tight-knit, efficient team.  We’re all back at work full time, but still observing social distancing and safety precautions with masks and a generous supply of hand sanitizer.

Feel free to drop us a line and say hi to the Team.  We’d love to hear from you.
