At Sourcing Bali, we see design as more than just decoration — it’s about telling a story, capturing a feeling, and creating moments that stay with you long after the lights go down. One of our favourite stories started a few years ago with the stunning Royal Davui Island Resort in Fiji. We crafted a collection of custom lighting that still brings warmth and magic to the island’s beautiful spaces.
Bringing a Vision to Life
Our Creative Director, Desmond James, led this project with a clear mission: design lighting that blends seamlessly with Royal Davui’s natural beauty and elegant vibe. Inspired by the island’s soft sands, ocean waves, and lush greenery, Desmond imagined pieces that feel both refined and rooted in nature.
From delicate handwoven rattan pendants to sculptural fixtures, every light was carefully created to enhance the calm, luxurious atmosphere of the resort.
“Designing for Royal Davui gave us the chance to be playful yet thoughtful—to tell a story through light,” says Desmond. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see our work still glowing beautifully on the island.”
Handcrafted with Heart and Soul
Like all our custom work, these lights were brought to life by talented Balinese artisans using sustainable, ethically sourced materials. Every curve, weave, and finish were made with care — honouring centuries-old traditions while ensuring each piece would stand the test of time.
More than just fixtures, these lights celebrate the artistry and connections behind every project.

Today, these custom creations remain a beloved feature of Royal Davui.
Even though the project wrapped up years ago, it still shines as a perfect example of what happens when design, craftsmanship, and passion come together.
