Dear Friends,

It is a pleasure to bring you the latest news from Sourcing Bali and our supplier partners.

I know that this newsletter is long overdue, largely as a result of our being busy with new and wonderful projects and since our re-structuring last year, we continue to service a select number of accounts with orders for furnture and accessories, and we are concentrating our efforts on projects for hotels, restaurants, spas, and private homes.  This is an area of our business in which we are best suited and enjoy the most.

We've recently completed several projects in Fiji, Maldives, Sydney, Hawaii, Miami, and we continue to receive valuable orders from existing clients in many parts of the world.

In this issue of Sourcing Bali news, I bring you details of some of these projects and well as updates on some designs we've recently produced. I also bring you some updates on the team and what's happening in Bali.

We are often asked to produce unique designs, working with a wide range of materials, often combining several different suppliers to produce one design.  This is where Sourcing Bali is most suited.  We recent completed several unique designs and we're pleased to include some of them here...

Fiji Sales Trip

I've just returned from a busy but successful trip to Fiji.  Thank you very much to my gracious hosts at Vomo Island Resort, Malolo, Liku Liku, Yasawa Island Resort, Warwick and Myola.  My 10 day trip to Fiji enabled me to catch up with old clients and visit with new ones.  Fiji is a very special place and it's always a pleasure to visit. 

Fiji has long been a valuable market for Sourcing Bali; we have proudly assisted 15 or more resorts in Fiji with their interiors and accessories.  We continue to support many resorts with repeat orders of quality products at affordable pricing. 

The generous hospitality of the Fijians is wonderful, the islands are stunning, the resorts are magical and I look forward to returning soon.

Customised carvings

We're just about to complete the crating of a very special, and truly beautiful carved wall, headed to Miami Florida.  This stunning wall is for a private buyer and incorporates a traditional motif used in a contemporary fashion. 

We're certain that this stunning creation will be the centrepeice of the home and we're proud to have been able to provide this level of quality for our clients.

Since 2000, Sourcing Bali has been successfully assisting thousands of happy customers with furniture orders for their homes or business.  We specialise in customised designs for interiors and outdoors, including solid timber, synthetic rattan, stainless steel as well as art peices made from stone and a wide variety of materials.

A buying trip to Bali makes lots of sense and can help to save many thousands of $$ by buying wisely with Sourcing Bali.  A 1 or 2 day trip with us will expose you to a wide range of suppliers and products, each with proven history of quality and price.  Even if you're unable to visit Bali, we can still assist with online orders, just email us the details and we will be happy to assist.

Quality Control - HIGHEST IMPORTANCE

The most important reason for using Sourcing Bali is our impeccable QUALITY CONTROL standards.

Suppliers in Bali will confirm, Sourcing Bali is the most stringent, the most detailed, the most fussy when it comes to quality, and whilst some might baulk at our high standards, they untimately realise that we all need to ensure that we sell only the highest quality products so that we can all be proud. 
 

Our QC crew visit factories during the construction process to monitor progress and we report back to the customer to show that orders are as scheduled.  Occassionaly, we may need to change a design, reselect a finish or adjust a size, but we are able to catch this early and communicate these problems to the client early so as to avoid any surprises. 

Our 15% fee is well worth the peace of mind that we provide for our clients, and we continue to lead the market with our unparralleled level of service and communication - and passion for quality.

Stone Exports

We are still encountering some challenges with the exportation of stone. 


Recent changes to export laws involving the needs for specific export licences for specific raw stone products has meant that exporters such as Sourcing Bali are no longer eligible to qualify for such a licence.  This has proven to be very problematic for many small business owners,  including Sourcing Bali who endeavour only to adhere to export laws and faciliate orders for our clients.

Currently, the only option available for stone to be exported from Bali is by using a 'quota' from a third party exporter, of which there is only 1 in Bali, and have them export the stone in their company name.  This is cumbersome and frustrating, however it does provide an avenue for the stone to be exported legally, albeit not in Sourcing Bali's name.
 

None the less, we continue to assist our customers thru the process and ensure that all obstacles are removed.  The laws change frequently and often without notice, so it is important to alway suse a reputable exporter like Sourcing Bali to ensure that you're not left behind.

Outdoor cushions and covers

Need a facelift for your outdoor covers?

The solution is easy - send us one of the old covers, and we'll copy them with new fabric and ship them back to you. 

Sourcing Bali recommends SUNBRELLA brand of fabric, suitable for outdoor use.  It's properties include being colour fast (no fading), and anti mould.   There are a wide range of colours available and no mimimum quantities required. 

We can turn around an order in as little as 7 days - subject to stocks being available.

Watch this space

Next year will mark out 10th anniversary at our current offices, but sadly, our landlord has declined to extend the lease, so it's time for us to move...

We have already found a wonderful piece of land and works are already underway to build our new office, warehouse and QC facility.  Located just a few minutes from our current office, in the quiet area of Muding Kelod, our new building will be a 90yr old traditional wooden Javanese building called a 'joglo'.  We're vamping it up to accommodate our modern needs, yet still retaining the charm and heritage of traditional Javanese architecture.

We look forward to bringing you more news over the coming months... we expect we will be ready to move in February or March, 2015.  How exciting !!!
