III / Volume 11, June 2012 Sourcing Bali - Mid Year News

Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I bring you the latest news from Sourcing Bali and our supplier partners.

In this issue, we bring news of recent uploads to the websites for all divisions of the company, as well as details of latest products loaded to the site, new projects and news of events in the coming months.

We take this opportunity to thank you, as always for your wonderful support.  We understand that business is a little soft in many parts of the world, however we continue to receive repeat and new orders from all corners of the globe and we are grateful that we can maintain our business in these challenging times.  We continue to focus on our customer service, our attention to detail and ensure the very best quality for our customers.

On behalf of all the crew, I THANK YOU.

Warmest regards,
Desmond

New Products on our website

Any visitors to Bali will understand the sheer volume of products that are available to be sourced from Bali.  The streets and markets are full of designs, products, materials - all creatively produced by a small army of artisans and craftspeople.

Determining which products get loaded to our website can be a challenge.  Whilst there is a lot  of product, we've always endeavoured to select only the best quality, the most unique and original designs to be loaded to our site.  It would be nearly impossible for us to load all products that we source on to our site - the volume overwhelming, instead, we're selective of which products we load and as a result, we provide a glimpse of interesting and unique products that our company has sourced.

If you dont find what you're looking for on our site, please email me at desmond@sourcing-bali.com and we will assist you to find it.

New projects

We are currently in progress for a number of new projects both here and overseas.

A welcome return client is Anna from South Africa.  Anna used Sourcing Bali in 2007 to complete the spa for her hotel on the outskirts of Johannesburg, and has returned to Sourcing Bali to source for the expansion of the spa.   Wayan is currently busy with Anna, selecting new designs including spa treatment rooms and equipment, we look forward to bringing you news of the project in the coming months.

We are also working on a 28 roomed hotel in Seminyak, we've been appointed to assist with the refurbishment of this established resort, it's early days, so we cant reveal too much, but we promise to update you in the next issue of SB NEWS.

We are also looking at new projects in Ubud, Jimbaran, and in Perth. Many thanks to all for your great support.

New Catalogue for Hospitality Essentials

We've JUST finished the photoshoot for the new catalogue for Hospitality Essentials, and we're delighted with the results.  The newest edition, (now in it's 5th year) will be released at the end of July and we look forward to bringing you the latest designs from our creative team.  This is our BIGGEST ever issue, with more than 30% new designs - Hospitality Essentials continues to grow from year to year as we build the brand and assist hotel and spa projects all over the world.

We're proudly featured in thousands of resorts worldwide, and we continue to develop new designs, seek new materials and create exciting ranges to complement some of the best hotels and resorts in the world.

Here's a glimpse of what's to come..

Personal Shopping Services

Now in our 12th year, Sourcing Bali continues to provide the best, most comprehensive and professional shopping services for visitors to Bali.

Many have tried to copy, but ONLY Sourcing Bali provides the high degree of customer service from professional, courteous staff, with an eviable reputation for quality, guaranteeing transparent negotiations for pricing.

If you have plans to visit Bali to source for furniture and furnishings, or know someone who may need our services, please email me at desmond@sourcing-bali.com so that we can tailor a personalised shopping service for you.

Sourcing Bali is Bali's ONLY one stop service provider, with it's own cargo service in house.  With a combined crew of over 80, we provide unrivalled service to our customers and ensure peace of mind at every turn.

Quality Controls

The most important of our roles as Sourcing Agents is that of Quality Controlling.  Our customers depend on us to ensure that each and every order is 100% correct before shipping.

At Sourcing Bali, we fully understand the importance of inspecting each and every item for consistency, finish, colour and size.  Our team of 7 dedicated quality controllers are dilligent with their inspections to check for rejects.  We have a reputation for being fussy, and for this we make no apology.  It's vitally important to you that we conduct thorough checks to maximise your profits.

Our 150sqm dedicated QC facility, located in our own warehouse is spacious, well lit, and air-conditioned to provide the perfect environment for checking and packing.  Our crew are able to inspect and pack up to 20cbm of handicraft goods per day.  This includes home wares, garments, hotel accessories, gift ware, and many varieties of hand crafted items.  Being handcrafted, there is a high risk of inconsistency, this is why we ensure full and detailed inspections, each time, everytime.

We welcome visits to the warehouse to meet the crew and see how we undertake the QC process for all orders.  Please let me know if you would like to schedule a trip. We look forward to your visit.

August - Buying trips not recommended

As mentioned in my last email, this August we face a numebr of production challenges due to an unusuallly large number of public holidays and religious ceremonies.

August 17th is the Independence Day of Indonesia and all businesses will likely be closed.  August is also includes the celebration of Idul Fitri, the end of the fasting month for Moslems, and will include Galungan and Kuningan for Balinese Hindu's.

We certainly suggest that any plans to come to Bali for business be postponed until September as most suppliers will be closed for a great portion of the month, making visits to factories difficult. Coming to Bali on holiday however will enable you to witness one of the most wonderfully colourful ceremonies of the Balinese calendar.

11th Anniversary - Staff Party

We very proudly celebrated our 11th Anniversary of Sourcing Bali / Rim Cargo in May.  Our annual staff party was attended by over 200 crew, partners and kids.  Activities included games and rides for the younger ones, and a 'Bali Idol' competion for the crew.

The crew were divided into 10 teams of 9, each with a colour.  The Theme was 'music through the ages' and the results were outstanding. We were entertained for over 2 hours by a wickedly creative bunch of singers, dancers and lipsinc-ers to the delight of everyone.

Prizes of flat screen TV's, handphones, cooktops, stereos, and rice cookers were awarded to highest scoring teams.  Needless to say, the competion was fierce !!

Of course, none of this would be possible without your support, we thank you for your business and we look forward to working with you in this, our 12th year.

Changing faces

We're very pleased to annouce some recent changes to the teams.. including changes in Hospitality Essentials and the promotion of Agus to Sales Executive.  Agus has been with us for over 1 year as sales support, honing his skills of administration in preparation for this eventual new role.  We're delighted that he has passed with flying colours and we wish him every success.

Moving from our QC department to the Hospitality Division is Putu.  Putu has been with Sourcing Bali for 5 years, and we are very pleased to welcome him to head office to work with Ryan as sales support for the Hospitality Essentials brand.  Good luck and welcome to Putu.

New to the Accounting team is another Putu.  Putu has been with Rim Cargo as assisant to the Document processing division.  Putu is now in training to take over the role of internal Auditor assistance.  Welcome Putu, we wish you well in your new role.

And.. we extend a warm welcome back to Wayan Jack - he's been on extended leave from the company but has returned as Quality Controller along side the other Wayan QC.

Please join me in congratulating them all for their new responsibilities. We are deligthed to be able to promote so many from within the ranks of the company.
